Whoever wants to join the initiative can ask ESN Trento to be a Buddy of an Erasmus student, i.e. a friendly reference point for an Erasmus student.

The Buddy is a student of the University of Trento who will assist informally an Erasmus student, helping him/her facing, during the first days in Trento, problems related to limited knowledge of the language, to the different organization of the University and to the fact of being in a unknown new city.

The Buddy doesn't represent ESN nor the University of Trento. S/he is only a person who will be available as much as s/he thinks its necessary, when the student will need it. The staff of ESN can give some important tipps, which could ease the arrival of an Erasmus student:

• contact him/her before his/her arrival in Trento;
• pick him/her up at the train station and take him/her to his accommodation assigned by the Opera Universitaria or help him/her find an apartment in the private market;
• help him/her in the offices of the University and of the Opera Universitaria, in particular take him/her to the check-in at the LLP-Erasmus office;
• invite him/her going out at night when nobody will know waht to do.

These are just a few tipps. What the Buddy will actually do will only be up to him/her.

This project aims at easing a socio-cultural-academic integration of foreign students, and also at introducing students to Trento's social life. ESN Trento believes that a dynamic contact between local and foreign students can turn academic education into a more interesting and stimulating experience. We hope this way that students in Trento could take this opportunity to establish new friendships and integrate since the very beginning in the amazing life of Erasmus students in Trento.
